Native Plant Nursery

Growing native Mattole species for restoration projects:

The Council operates a nursery in Petrolia and an on-site nursery on Prosper Ridge, where a variety of native grasses, shrubs, conifers, and hardwood trees are grown for restoration projects. This year, we doubled the size of our Petrolia nursery with an additional greenhouse generously donated by a local family.

We offer help in identifying native grasses and sell plants for drought-resistant landscaping and restoration projects.  Please contact Monica at the Petrolia office if you're interested in plants for your landscape.
