Nick's Interns
We are excited to announce our 2011 season of Nick’s Interns. This unique program provides work
opportunities for high school
students. We are looking for individuals who are motivated to learn, work hard,
be part of a team, and make a valuable contribution to our natural environment.
Interns work on a range of restoration projects such as, stream repair, invasive species removal, trail building, sediment and fuel hazard reduction, salmon habitat enhancement and more. With the cooperation of several environmental agencies, participants will learn about and experience a variety of restoration forestry practices.
BLM Session One (Whitethorn) June 20~
July 8(6 interns)
BLM Session Two (Whitethorn) July 11~ 28 (6 interns)
Mattole Restoration Council (Petrolia) July 11-28 (2 interns)
Mattole Salmon Group (Petrolia) July 11-28 (1 intern)
All jobs will be 3 week sessions, 4 days a week (32 hours)
Interns starting wage ~ $ 9.50/hr; returning ~ $10.50/hr
Nick’s Interns work together with the Mattole Restoration Council, Sanctuary Forest, The Institute of Sustainable Forestry, State Parks, Bureau of Land Management and the Mattole Salmon Group.
